Orderlyforlee Podcast: Al Arnold, Host, Orderlyforlee, takes on
his own personal journey surrounding the Confederate Flag, the
State flag of Mississippi and Black Confederate Heritage.
Orderlyforlee was rejected as a guest speaker by a prominent Black
church in Jackson Mississippi after they invited him months in
advance to speak on family heritage. He walks us through that
experience. The Modern Black man's journey clashes with popular
culture in s heated moment in time surrounding Confederate
Heritage. . Orderlyforlee details his journey into the depths of
his Christian faith through tangible experiences within his
community.
An interview with Deborah Simpson, African American proponent of
Mississippi's Initiative 62 opens the dialogue of Grace, Race and
Confederate Heritage.
The Mississippi initiative 62 is a measure that seeks to amend the
Mississippi Constitution to recognize the flag adopted by the state
legislature in 1894, as the official state flag of Mississippi. The
measure would also mandate that the official flag be flown at all
state institutions and agencies.
